Newsletter May, 2025
Dear SwimAmerica Parents,
We are starting a new session, Spring II, today, May 5. We are getting really busy, so please check the registration date for the first summer session at the end of the newsletter under “Mark your Calendar”.
Below are the results from the SwimAmerica Meet on Friday, May 2.
I am very sorry for the delay, but thanks to Lifeguard Anthony coming to the rescue, the remainder of the meet, went really well. Although, I always emphasize that at this point, the swimmers’ form and technique is more important than the times, it is still nice to see the improvements in both for many of the swimmers.
Please compare your child’s times to their times from the previous swim meet. The swimmers’ ages range from 5-12 years old and they are in level 6-10. Times in brackets are from the last meet. A big THANK YOU to all the volunteers. We would not be able to do these meets without you.

 Newsletter October, 2025

Dear SwimAmerica Parents,

We have finally reached the beautiful time of the year. We seem to be past the thunderstorms and all the humidity. Now we should be able to have much more consistent lessons. We will swim through the Winter. Note that the pools will be heated and on cold nights, they will be covered.  So, the water should be nice and warm. Bring a warm robe or big towel and your swimmer will be warm after the lesson as well.

Registration for Fall III has begun. Please read the “Mark your Calendar” section in the back for more details.

Below are the results from the SwimAmerica Meet on Friday, October 24.

I am very sorry for the delay, and grateful for your patience, as always.

For many of the swimmers, this was their first meet and I was very impressed with their stroke technique. And although technique is more important than their speed at this point, there were many improvements from the last swim meet. Please compare your child’s times to his/her times from the previous swim meet. The swimmers’ ages  range from 5-14 years old and they are in level 6-10. Times in brackets are from the last meet.

A big THANK YOU to all the volunteers. We would not be able to do these meets without you.

  • Here are a few points to ensure, classes will run smoothly:
  •  Please bring goggles for your child, and assure, before class, that they fit properly. Children in the school age program with long hair should wear a       swim cap.

  •  Bathing suits: one or- two-piece suits are acceptable for girls. Boys can wear speedos, jammers or board shorts, whichever they find most comfortable.

  •   Swim shirts: are discouraged. If your child chooses to wear a swim shirt, it should be tight fitting and have short sleeves. Swim shirts are no longer allowed on the preteam levels 9&10. They are not allowed on the swim team and to make the transition to the swim team easier, we will no longer allow them in the preteam. They just weigh the swimmer down.

  • We strongly recommend registering your children for 2 classes per week. It helps the swimmer to progress faster when the skills are reinforced one more time.
